Repair Backs
Earring backs are the most important component in the wearability of your jewelry. If the earring backs you currently have become lose or break, our jewelry doctors can fix them or recommend replacements.
Replace Friction Backs
This is the simplest and most common type of earring back and consists of a flat plate with a hole the size of the post. It slides onto the post and goes against the ear. If this becomes damaged, our jewelry doctors can fit your earrings with new ones.
Replace Screw Backs
Screw backs are a type of backing used for earrings that need to be screwed on instead of pushed on. They are rotated onto the post until fully secure. When this becomes damaged, our jewelry doctors can fit your earrings with new ones.
Replace Settings
If the integrity of the metal surrounding your stones becomes so weak that re-tipping is not a viable option, it's possible our jewelry doctors will recommend replacing a prong or even the entire crown your gemstones or diamonds are secured in.
Solder Posts
In rare cases, the post of your stud earring may become bent or damaged and require replacement. Our jewelry doctors can solder on new posts to existing earrings, making them wearable again.
Tighten Stones
Our jewelry doctors will inspect your earrings and tighten any loose stones that they may find. Stones can come loose from normal wear and tear as they are set in a precious metal that is malleable and meant to bend and move in order to be formed into a piece of jewelry.
